A short story based on my grandfather’s experiences in the Battle of the Bulge.
Bobby Whiteley is sent to the office because he is the only on in K Company who knows how to type. A week later, in the foggy winter the German’s launch an unexpected offensive that wipes out 3/4 of the company and Bobby is the one who has to write all of the condolence letters and casualty reports.
