Preventing Mode-hops in Extended-cavity Diode Lasers

Enoch Lambert, Brigham Young University

Physical Sciences

Extended-cavity diode lasers are important tools in scientific research. Current extended-cavity diode laser systems will change frequency unpredictably while operating, requiring extensive effort to tune them back to the right frequency. We seek to implement a novel method of extended-cavity diode laser control that adds an extra control system to prevent these unpredictable changes.
