So many things bring us down in life. This dance celebrates the moments of remembering why life is worthwhile and beautiful, even in its challenges. It is an exploration of how people with different experiences can relate to each other and build a community. Our process began with building our own community of trust, and an environment that felt safe to explore difficult and guarded emotions. As we discussed our stories we discovered that difficult times often came with feelings of isolation, and fond memories often came with feeling connected to others. The movements of this piece reflect this finding, as we attempt to relate to observes of the work in their unique experiences.
