Accidentally discovered in 1963 when bulldozers happened upon a burial cave that would become famous for ancient inscriptions etched in soft limestone, referring to the ‘God of Jerusalem.’ Beit Lehi is an active archaeological site located southwest of Jerusalem in the Judean Lowlands. Throughout antiquity, trade routes, religion, and numerous cultures inevitably shaped what is now referred to as the ‘Lost City of Ancient Israel.’ Utah Valley University has been a stepping stone in finding and documenting many of the artifacts found throughout the ruins of Beit Lehi. As an architecture student I was tasked with designing and proposing a possible visitor center for the site. Spending many countless hours researching and fully understanding the archaeological site to incorporate details throughout the visitor center. I designed a classical visitor center proposal which I have laid out in an analytique style format. Beautiful watercolor to bring the visitor center to life. Beit Lehi has many more amazing discoveries yet to be made but with the artifacts found at this unique site and endeavor to reveal to the public eye.
